What clients say
Mr. Boland protected our family’s wealth and gave us peace of mind for generations to come.
Working with BLG transformed our family’s approach to wealth preservation and estate planning. Their attorneys took the time to understand our unique goals and concerns, crafting a personalized plan that safeguarded our assets for future generations. We feel confident knowing our children and grandchildren are protected from unnecessary taxes, creditors, and legal disputes. BLG’s thoughtful guidance gave our family lasting peace of mind and clarity, ensuring our legacy will continue exactly as we intended.
They were the missing piece of the puzzle.
Our financial advisors and tax accountants were outstanding, but partnering with BLG was truly the missing piece of the puzzle. Their collaboration with our existing advisory team provided the clarity and integration we had been seeking. Now, all our advisors are aligned, working seamlessly together, and the comprehensive strategy BLG developed perfectly complements our financial and tax planning. BLG’s involvement brought cohesion and confidence to our overall wealth management and estate planning goals.
Ten differences, side by side
Choosing BLG means sophisticated, customized planning, attentive personal service, and the strategic expertise necessary to preserve and protect your family’s legacy for generations.
01Advanced expertise and credentials
BLG
Every attorney at BLG holds an advanced post-doctoral law degree (LL.M.), in addition to their Juris Doctor degree, some focusing on estate planning while others focus on tax. This specialized knowledge allows us to craft sophisticated plans aligned perfectly with your personal, financial, and business goals.
Other firms
Attorneys at many estate planning practices often hold only basic law degrees without actual specialized training in estate planning or tax law, significantly limiting the sophistication and effectiveness of their solutions. These attorneys frequently handle multiple unrelated areas of law rather than focusing exclusively on a niche specialty, their expertise tends to be broad but shallow, truly making them a “jack of all trades, master of none.”
02Fully customized solutions
BLG
We never rely on generic forms or outdated templates. Every document is thoughtfully tailored to your family’s unique circumstances, ensuring your objectives and legacy are fully realized.
Other firms
Firms commonly reuse generic, standardized documents that fail to consider individual circumstances, leading to incomplete or ineffective estate planning outcomes.
03Consistently updated intellectual property
BLG
Our planning documents reflect cutting-edge strategies, incorporating the latest tax law developments and court rulings, consistently reviewed and refined by our expert attorneys.
Other firms
Documents and strategies often remain unchanged for decades, neglecting critical updates in tax laws, estate regulations, and evolving family dynamics, potentially resulting in costly mistakes or oversights.
04Direct attorney involvement
BLG
From initial meetings through the final execution of documents, every step of your estate planning process is handled personally by experienced attorneys. Our hands-on approach ensures accuracy, responsiveness, and superior results.
Other firms
Many firms rely heavily on paralegals or administrative staff to draft and manage documents, significantly reducing the direct involvement and oversight of experienced attorneys.
05Premium, proactive service
BLG
We intentionally limit our client volume to ensure personalized attention, in-depth discussions, and proactive follow-up. We invest substantial attorney time to deliver meticulously crafted, comprehensive solutions.
Other firms
High-volume, low-cost practices often prioritize efficiency over customization, providing limited attention and leaving important planning opportunities overlooked or neglected.
06Integrated business and financial insights
BLG
With attorneys possessing business degrees and backgrounds, we integrate sophisticated business succession and asset management strategies directly into your estate planning, optimizing both personal and business wealth transfers.
Other firms
Typically lack attorneys with integrated business training, resulting in disconnected plans that fail to adequately address business succession, asset liquidity, or complex financial structures.
07Comprehensive, long-term relationship
BLG
Our goal is not only document creation but ongoing management and adaptation of your estate plan. Our attorneys maintain close relationships, adjusting your plan as your life, family, and the laws evolve.
Other firms
Generally provides transactional services without ongoing relationships, resulting in outdated estate plans that don’t reflect changes in your life, family circumstances, or legal environment.
08Confidentiality and trust
BLG
Our approach emphasizes discretion, personal attention, and confidentiality at every stage. Your family’s personal, financial, and business details are always managed directly by seasoned attorneys, safeguarding your privacy and security.
Other firms
Use of administrative staff and paralegals increases the risk of errors, information leaks, or misunderstandings, potentially compromising confidentiality and privacy.
09Advanced protection from divorce, lawsuits, and creditors
BLG
BLG plans utilize sophisticated strategies designed specifically to protect family wealth from potential threats, such as divorce settlements, lawsuits, and creditor claims. Our advanced planning structures ensure your heirs remain financially secure.
Other firms
Typical firms lack the advanced legal knowledge or customized approach required to proactively safeguard against these risks, potentially exposing your heirs to significant financial vulnerabilities.
10Preservation of family wealth without overly restrictive conditions
BLG
We carefully structure plans to protect assets without “governing from the grave.” This allows your heirs autonomy while ensuring family wealth remains secure and insulated from external risks.
Other firms
Less customized, one-size-fits-all documents often fail to adequately protect family wealth, either overly restricting heirs or leaving them exposed to avoidable risks.

From the first meeting to the final execution of documents, every step is handled personally by the attorneys named below.
