The office clock in Scottsdale, Arizona A twenty-four hour dial. The green arc marks the hours the office is open, nine in the morning to five in the afternoon. The dot marks the current time in Scottsdale. The sentence beneath the dial says the same thing in words, so nothing here depends on being able to read the drawing. • Call Boland Law Group in Scottsdale, Arizona at (480) 420-8268

    Call the office

The fastest route, and the one we prefer for anything with a clock on it: a closing, a filing deadline, a notice from the IRS, a death in the family. A person answers during office hours; outside them, the voicemail holds your message until the office is back.

    Write to the office

Best when you are still weighing options and would rather not talk yet. The form is short on purpose: your name, how to reach you, and which of our areas it touches. You can send it at three in the morning, which people do.

Write to us

Tell us how to reach you.

Not your whole situation, and not yet. The form asks for almost nothing on purpose: who you are, how to reach you, and which of our areas the matter touches. The story itself waits for a conversation, and there is a reason for that.

If you already know roughly what you need

What the form asks for

Your name, how you would like to be reached, and which of our areas the matter touches. That is all, and the brevity is deliberate. Anything more belongs in a conversation, not in a contact form.

Why it asks so little

Until a conflicts check has run, we should not be holding the substance of your situation, and you should not want us to. A short form protects you as much as it protects us. The details come later, out loud, once the check clears.

What it costs to ask

Nothing. Sending this commits you to nothing and there is no charge for finding out whether we are the right firm. The consultation that may follow is a scheduled, paid meeting, and the office quotes the figure when it books the time.

Before you send anything confidential. No attorney-client relationship exists until we have run a conflicts check, sent an engagement letter, and you have signed it and any required fee has cleared. Until then a message to us is not privileged. We never sell, rent or trade what you send us.

Send your details to the intake desk

A person reads it, in the order it arrived, around the matters already open. If yours has a clock on it, call instead.

Sending this form does not create an attorney-client relationship and does not make what you write privileged. Please do not send confidential or time-critical information through it. For anything urgent, call the office.

What happens next

After you press send.

Most law firm contact pages end at the button. Here is the rest of it, in order, so you know what you have set in motion and what you have not.

  1. 01

It lands on a desk, not in a queue

Your message goes to the intake desk in Scottsdale and a person opens it. We do not promise a response time, and we would rather not invent one: the desk works through what arrives in order, around the matters already underway. Anything with a deadline belongs on the phone.

  2. 02

    We run a conflicts check

Before anyone hears the substance, we check the names against our existing clients. It is why the form asks for so little, and it is the reason we cannot promise you confidentiality until it clears. It is usually quick.

  3. 03

You tell it to a person, not a text box

The form did not ask what is going on; the call is where you say it, in your own words, and an attorney hears the substance rather than a summary of it. If the matter sits outside the work we do, we say so quickly, and where we can we point you toward someone who does it properly. A fast no is worth more to you than a slow maybe.

  4. 04

    Then the meeting is arranged

We agree a time, a place and who will be in the room. If you are planning with a spouse or partner, one meeting covers you both. If anyone else wants to join, an adult child or an adviser, tell us then: a third party in the room can affect what stays confidential, and we would rather raise it now than at the door.

  5. 05

    Then the questionnaire, by invitation

Once the consultation is booked we send a private link to our planning questionnaire. It is not published and it does not open without an invitation. It costs you an hour and it saves several of the meeting's, because the attorney arrives already knowing your situation instead of learning it out loud.

The office

One office, and it is easy to park at.

We see clients by appointment only. That is not exclusivity, it is arithmetic: a firm that limits how many matters it takes can give the hour it promised to the person in front of it.

Not a new matter

Reaching us about something else.

The form above is for people starting something. Everything else has a shorter path, and using it will get you an answer faster.

  • You are already a client

Call the office and ask for your attorney's assistant. Your matter is already open and they can see it. The form would only put you back at the start of the line.

  • You are paying an invoice

Use the Make a Payment page. Choose Operating Payments unless your engagement letter or your attorney has told you otherwise.

  • You are an adviser

Planners, CPAs, investment advisors, insurance agents and family office managers should call the office directly. The attorney on the matter will speak with you, which is faster than routing through your client.

  • You want to work here

Everything open is on the Careers page. Please apply there rather than through this form, so your materials reach the right person with the rest of them.

  • Service of process and filings

By hand or by mail to the Scottsdale address during office hours. Please do not attempt service by this form, by email or by voicemail: none of them is accepted.

  • Press, vendors and speaking

Call the office and say which you are. The form is built for people starting a matter and gives you nowhere to say anything else, so a call reaches the right person and the form does not.

Before you write

The questions people actually ask first.

Answered plainly, including the ones where the honest answer is not the flattering one.

No, and we would rather say so here than after you have driven over. The first call, where the office works out whether we are the right firm for what you are carrying, costs nothing. The consultation itself is a scheduled meeting with an attorney, billed at that attorney's hourly rate with a one hour minimum, and the office tells you the figure when it books the time. If you engage us on a fixed fee within thirty days of that meeting, we credit the consultation fee once against the fixed fee, for the scope described in our written proposal.

We do not promise a response time, and we would rather say that plainly than invent a number. The intake desk reads what arrives in the order it arrived, around the matters already open, and most of what any law firm's web form collects is machine noise, so a message that is plainly from a person stands out on its own. If your situation has a clock on it, do not wait on a form: call during office hours, Monday through Thursday, 9am to 5pm Mountain Standard Time. The clock at the top of this page shows whether anyone is there right now.

Not yet, and we would rather be plain than reassuring. No attorney-client relationship exists until we have run a conflicts check, sent you an engagement letter, and you have signed it and any required fee has cleared. Until that happens, nothing you send is privileged, which is exactly why the form asks for so little: your name, how to reach you, and the area the matter touches. Save the substance for the conversation that follows. We never sell, rent or trade what you send us.

Mountain Standard Time, and Arizona does not observe daylight saving, so we never move. From March to November we keep the same hour as Los Angeles; the rest of the year we keep the same hour as Denver. If you are calling from the east coast, we are three hours behind you in summer and two in winter. The dial at the top of this page reads our clock, live.

No. We meet at the office by appointment, at your home, or by secure video, and the choice is yours. In-home appointments run across the Valley, including Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Mesa, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, Carefree and Fountain Hills, and across Northern Arizona, including Prescott, Prescott Valley, Clarkdale, Jerome and Sedona. Signing usually needs a notary and witnesses, and we arrange that around wherever you are. Tell us which you would prefer and we will set it up.

Often, yes. Many of the people we act for winter here, own Arizona property, or have moved and need a plan that follows them rather than one that stayed behind. Our attorneys are admitted in Arizona and before the United States Tax Court, and one of our partners is also admitted in Colorado and Missouri. Tell us where you live and where the assets sit, and we will tell you honestly whether you need us, local counsel where you are, or both working together.

Yes, and it usually saves everybody a step. Most of the people we serve already have a planner, a CPA, an investment advisor, an insurance agent and sometimes a family office manager, and we work alongside them deliberately so the estate plan and the financial structure end up as one plan rather than two that have never met. If you are the adviser, call the office and the attorney on the matter will speak with you directly.

A rough balance sheet: what you own, roughly what each piece is worth, and how it is titled. Any will, trust or beneficiary designation already in place, even an old one, and especially an old one. The names of anyone you would want as trustee, executor or agent. If you own a business, its operating agreement or bylaws and any buy-sell arrangement. None of it has to be tidy. Once the consultation is booked we send a planning questionnaire by private invitation, which walks you through all of it in order.

Both, and the work either side of them. We do estate planning, trust planning and modification, trust administration when a trust becomes operative, estate and probate administration after a death, business and corporate counsel, business succession, and tax controversy when the IRS is already involved. If what you need falls outside those, we will tell you in the first conversation rather than the third. You can see the whole list on our services page.

Call the office instead and ask for your attorney's assistant. Your matter is already open, they can see it, and you will get an answer faster. Use this form only if you are starting something new. To pay an invoice, use the Make a Payment page.

The intake desk first, then an attorney. We are a small firm on purpose, so the partner who takes your consultation is the partner who works on the matter. You can read about them on the attorneys page, and about the credentials we do not lead with on quiet credentials.
