Who we serve

The shortest careers deserve the longest plans.

Somewhere past those ridges, the lights are on. If your name fills a seat under them, the money arrives early, in public, and all at once. We are the private client counsel for athletes and public figures: the players, the parents, the agents and the managers who need the legal architecture underneath the career, built before it is needed.

Sound familiar?
The signing bonus lands Friday. An NIL collective just called about your sixteen-year-old. Your agent negotiated the deal. Nobody structured the money. A cousin has a business idea. A second cousin has two. Away games in nine states means tax returns in nine states. The endorsement pays partly in equity. What is vesting? The lease application put your address in every database. You are twenty-four and the family breadwinner. The card company wants a signature. Its lawyer sent forty pages. Retirement will start before your fortieth birthday. Everyone wants a minute. It is always about money. The first contract is not the problem. The tenth year is.

The shape of the problem

Most people get forty years to earn. You get a window.

A surgeon’s income peaks near sixty. Yours peaks before thirty, and it arrives with an audience. That inversion changes everything about how the legal work has to be done: the trust before the bonus clears, the entity before the endorsement signs, the tax residency before the season starts, the estate documents while you are young enough to think they are absurd.

Ordinary planning assumes decades of runway and quiet. You have neither. So the plan has to be built early, built to hold, and built by counsel who has done this for families whose wealth outran the calendar.

The missing piece

You already have a team. One seat has been empty the whole time.

The agent negotiates the contract. The financial advisor invests what clears. The CPA files what the states demand. The manager keeps the days from colliding, and the publicist keeps the story straight. Every one of them is excellent inside their lane, and not one of them is your lawyer.

The trust that owns the house. The entity that signs the endorsement. The powers that speak if you cannot. The residency that decides what every check keeps, and the plan for the half-century after the final whistle. That architecture is a legal practice of its own, and it is ours. We take the open seat, and the huddle closes.

Everyone on your team is paid to think about this season. Someone should be paid to think about the next fifty years.

Four readers, one page

Whoever you are in this, we wrote your part.

Player, parent, agent, manager: the work looks different from each chair, so here is what it looks like from yours.

EVERYTHING AFTER 8 SEASONS

The player

Paid early, watched always, done by thirty‑five.

From the first signing bonus to the farewell tour, we build what the money lives in: the revocable trust, the entity for your name and likeness, the documents that answer for you if a collision answers first.

Then we keep it current through trades, contract years, a marriage, a family, and the day the cleats come off, because the plan has to outlast the roster spot.

Build the after
AGE 8 AGE 10 AGE 12 THE MONEY GROWS FASTER

The parent

Your kid can out-earn you before homeroom.

NIL money, custodial accounts, guardianship questions and a crowd of brand-new best friends all arrive in the same season. Saying yes to the opportunity should not mean saying yes to everything circling it.

We build structures a minor’s earnings can actually sit inside, and we write the counsel’s letter that ends most arguments before they start.

Start before the first deal
DAYS, NOT WEEKS

The agent

You win the deal. We make it land somewhere solid.

The contract is your lane and we stay out of it. What your client needs next is the part nobody certifies: the trust, the entities, the residency, the estate documents underneath the number you just got them.

Send it over. We turn entity and trust work fast, keep you copied, and make you the one who showed up with the answer.

ONE CALENDAR, KEPT

The manager & family office

You run the days. We hold the documents.

You keep the calendar, the bills, the daily yes-and-no. We are the counsel seat on that operation: document custody, signature authority done properly, an annual review that actually happens.

We work alongside the advisors already in the room. The goal is a tighter huddle, not a bigger one.

Set the annual cadence

The playbook

Diagrammed like everything else you run.

Five routes we run for nearly every client in this practice. Each one is ordinary on its own. Together, drawn before the season starts, they are the difference between a career and an estate.

Exposure

Public by profession. Private by design.

Fame has a paper trail. Property records, entity filings, court dockets and data brokers will publish whatever you let them, and an audience of millions includes the wrong dozen. Privacy for a public figure is not a setting. It is a structure, and structures are drafted.

  • Real estate titled in trust, so the county record shows a name that is not yours.
  • Endorsements and appearances signed by an entity, so the contracts are too.
  • Household staff and vendors under agreements that were drafted, not downloaded.
  • An estate plan built to stay out of probate, which is to say out of the news.

Home field

Home field advantage is a legal strategy.

The valley outside our windows hosts a big-league franchise in every major sport and, each spring, half of baseball. We did not choose this ground by accident. We built the practice where the careers are, and where the law is kind to the people who have them.

  • A flat 2.5% income tax. Arizona taxes every bracket at one low rate. For a career paid in a hurry, where you are a resident decides what every check keeps, and residency is legal work.
  • No state estate or inheritance tax. What you build here can pass here without a second toll at the state line.
  • Fifteen clubs, one valley. Every spring the Cactus League brings half the big leagues within an hour of this office; two parks sit minutes from our door. This is not a market we fly into. It is home.

The lights go out on every career. The plan should not.

One conversation is enough to know whether we fit. Bring the contract, the questions, the parent, the agent, whoever this concerns, and we will tell you plainly what should exist that does not yet.
