2026 RATE SCHEDULE  /  PUBLISHED IN ADVANCE

The price of good counsel, in writing.

Most firms treat their rates as something you discover on the first invoice. We publish ours. Clients are best served when fee structures are clear and communicated proactively, so our firm-wide 2026 rates, costs, and billing practices are set out below, before you ever engage us.

NOTICE OF 2026 BILLABLE RATES

Effective January 1, 2026

All firm rates are reviewed and adjusted annually and take effect at the beginning of each calendar year. The rates set out below are effective January 1, 2026, and supersede all prior or current rates.

Our 2026 adjustments reflect the impact of U.S. inflation and the ongoing investment required to maintain the quality, responsiveness, and technical depth of our legal services, while preserving a balanced and sustainable approach to our practice.

If you have questions about this update or how it may affect your matters, call us at (480) 420-8268 at your convenience.

2026 BILLABLE RATE DEFAULTS

Four rates. One page.

Each attorney bills within a published range that moves with the scope, subject matter, timing, and complexity of the work. Where your engagement letter states a specific rate, that rate controls, always.

Hourly rates vary depending on the scope of the matter, the subject matter involved, timing, availability, and other relevant factors. If a specific hourly rate is stated in your engagement letter, that rate controls. For expired engagement agreements, agreements that do not state an hourly rate, or ongoing matters not otherwise governed by a current engagement letter, this schedule will apply.

ESTATE PLANNING FIXED FEES

Published schedules, not a meter

For most estate planning, you should not need a running clock to know the price. Our fixed fee schedules are public, and our estimator will give you a written range before you ever sit down with us.

COSTS

Costs, passed through at cost

In addition to the hourly rate or fixed fee, clients are responsible for certain customary costs the firm incurs in rendering its services. As operational costs rise, we pass these traditional expenses through directly rather than folding them into our legal fees, so the fee you compare between firms is the fee we actually charge. We appreciate your understanding as we work to keep our legal fees competitive.

The client is responsible for all actual out-of-pocket costs incurred on their behalf, even where a fixed fee is charged.

Commonly incurred costs

In addition to the hourly rate or fixed fee. Estimates; they may not apply to your matter.

Mobile notary $100.00
Recording documents in Arizona $30.00 / instrument
Outside witness fee $50.00 *
FedEx / shipping $25.00 to $45.00 **

* We will make every effort to provide witnesses from our office staff or attorneys. However, due to workload demands, we may not always have in-house witnesses available. In such cases, we will secure a third-party witness, and you will be responsible for their fee.

** Shipping fees vary depending on the destination. To expedite the process, we may charge an estimated shipping fee and send a final invoice at the time of notification. If we charge an estimated fee for FedEx, any surplus or deficiency will not be refunded or billed.

AFTER-HOURS SURCHARGE

Need us after hours, on weekends, or at the crack of dawn?

We will be there. Our regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Activities conducted outside those hours, including text messages, phone calls, emails, or any other activity, incur an additional hourly surcharge equal to 50% of the attorney's or staff member's normal hourly rate, in addition to the standard hourly rate. The surcharge applies to all fixed fee matters as well, supplementary to the fixed fee amount.

The reason is simple and human. Evening and weekend work comes out of our team's personal time and their time with family. We protect that time so the people handling your matters are sharp when it counts, we minimize after-hours work wherever possible, and when you truly need us outside business hours, the surcharge is what makes saying yes sustainable. Your understanding and cooperation in respecting our team's personal time are greatly appreciated.

EXPEDITED REQUESTS

When your matter cannot wait

A private client practice lives with emergencies: last-minute real estate closings, urgent business deals, incapacity, and sometimes a death in a client's family. These are high-stakes moments, and we take those calls. Delivering that level of care demands extraordinary attention, advanced knowledge, and deep connections within the community.

An unscheduled request, however, reallocates attorneys and staff away from other clients' matters and places real additional demands on the firm. To accommodate expedited work, surcharges and fees will be applied that reflect the additional time and resources required. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in navigating these moments together.

Not all requests can be expedited or accommodated. All requests must be vetted by the attorney ahead of time and made in writing, and any fixed fee and estimated costs must be paid before work begins.

Hourly rates and expedited-service fees vary depending on the scope of the matter, subject matter, requested timeline, attorney availability, and other relevant factors. If a specific hourly rate, flat fee, timing loading, surcharge, or other fee arrangement is stated in your signed engagement letter, that engagement letter controls.

For expired engagement agreements, matters without a stated hourly rate, ongoing matters not otherwise governed by a current engagement letter, or hourly matters requiring expedited attention, the firm's then-current published fee schedule applies. Expedited hourly matters may also be subject to any separately published expedited-service surcharge and minimum-fee schedule.

For advanced planning matters governed by the firm's Advanced Planning & Lifetime Wealth Transfer Schedule, timing loadings are applied as stated in that schedule unless otherwise provided in a signed engagement letter. Expedited service secures the firm's availability and calendar priority only; third-party timelines, court schedules, appraisals, government processing times, client responsiveness, and other external deadlines cannot be guaranteed or accelerated by payment of an expedited-service fee.

BILLABLE INCREMENTS

How time is billed

Hourly services are billed in minimum increments of 0.1 (one tenth) of an hour for all activities, unless a different minimum applies under the table below. Depending on the nature and urgency of the service, we may block bill consecutive events, rounding up to the nearest 0.1 increment, where recording separate entries would not be the best use of time or resources. Non-legal staff such as clerks, secretaries, and administrative assistants may also assist you and the attorneys, billed at rates ranging from $75.00 to $150.00 per hour.

ACTIVITYMINIMUM INCREMENT / HOUR
Telephone calls0.2
Draft correspondence0.2
Draft emails0.1
Review of incoming mail & emails0.1
Court appearances & activity1.0
Client meetings, in person, phone, or video0.5

Documenting files, transcribing notes, and updating records are essential to the accurate tracking of our interactions and may require time beyond the duration of the conversation itself. The actual time spent on these activities may differ from the billable time recorded.

All hourly rates shall increase by ten percent (10.0%) automatically on the first day of the calendar year unless otherwise notified in writing or as provided and disclosed on our website at https://bolandlawgroup.com/rates/.

MISSED APPOINTMENTS & CANCELLATION POLICY

Your appointment is a reserved seat

When you book an appointment, you reserve a space on our calendar that becomes unavailable to other clients. To be considerate of your fellow clients, please contact our offices as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.

If cancellation becomes necessary, we ask that you notify us at least seventy-two (72) hours in advance. Our appointments are in high demand, and advance notice lets us offer the slot to another client.

A cancellation is late if made less than seventy-two (72) hours before the scheduled appointment time. A no-show occurs when a client misses an appointment without prior cancellation. In either case, we reserve the right to charge the attorney's hourly rate for the hour, along with any associated costs, such as witnesses, notaries, paper costs, and time spent updating documents. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this policy.
