Areas of Practice
Grant M. Boland, J.D., LL.M. is a Tax and Estate Planning Partner at Boland Law Group, PLLC (BLG), focusing on trust and estate planning, business planning, and tax representation. His practice is centered around the strategic design, implementation, and defense of sophisticated strategies for transferring ownership of family businesses and legacy properties to succeeding generations or charitable organizations.
Grant represents business owners and high-net-worth individuals, by providing comprehensive counsel to these family groups and individuals, emphasizing the creation of estate plans that protect and maximize wealth while minimizing transfer taxes. His areas of expertise include trust planning, estate planning, and addressing private client needs. He excels in helping clients navigate complex issues related to estate, gift, and generation-skipping taxes.
In addition to his estate planning expertise, Grant has extensive experience working with professional practices and closely held companies throughout their operational life spans. He assists business owners in matters of U.S. tax planning, exit strategies, organizational structuring, and succession planning. Grant is particularly skilled in integrating business strategies with personal estate plans to ensure a cohesive approach to asset management and legacy building.
Complementing his practice, Grant brings experience in federal tax litigation to his role. He has actively represented clients in the U.S. Tax Court in a variety of cases with a particular emphasis on issues related to the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act (TEFRA) family limited partnership matters. His ability to navigate TEFRA-related cases enhances his ability to advise clients on complex tax disputes, particularly those that directly relate to the integrative estate planning of family holdings.
Grant holds a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Business and Communications from Arizona State University, bringing valuable career experience from the business and finance sectors to his legal practice. He received his Juris Doctorate from Phoenix School of Law and completed a post-doctoral LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Estate Planning and Elder Law from Western New England University’s School of Law.
